My Self Directed Project
The self-directed project that I have chosen and proposed for this unit is inspired by psychogeography and related themes.
For the practical part, I will develop a photographic and textual book originating from the application of the so-called "drift", which was introduced and theorized by Guy Debord during the creation process of the Situationist Movement and the conceptual development of psychogeography.
My aim is to produce a group of outcomes, including:
- a project plan, according to what is established by the work path of this unit.
- a mental map that I need to structure the project, ideas, reflections, resources, outcomes and work path. The product I'm going to use to do mind-mapping has a very powerful link function, which allows me to put all the material in order and overcome the limits of the folder's structure.
- a blog, where to publish the research results, notes and reflections on readings;
- a photographic and textual book about my drifts in Giudecca, an island in the Venice lagoon;
- a critical review on some authors who, according to my research, have applied and interpreted the drift: consciously, following philosophical/political/artistic currents, or unconsciously.
The practical work will be supported by research: the result of the research will be the reflections, which I will insert in the blog.
